- Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2024"Multiple Streams of Income" by Robert G. Allen is a compelling guide for anyone looking to diversify their income sources and secure financial freedom. Allen, known for his real estate investment advice, broadens his scope in this book to include various methods of generating wealth that aren't solely tied to traditional employment.
The narrative begins with a powerful premise: relying on a single income stream is akin to putting all your eggs in one basket. Allen uses this metaphor to drive home the importance of diversification in today's volatile economic landscape. The book is structured around ten different streams of income, each explored with practical advice, real-life examples, and step-by-step strategies.
One of the strengths of Allen's writing is his ability to break down complex financial concepts into digestible, actionable advice. For instance, he delves into real estate, one of his areas of expertise, not just as a passive income source but also as an active investment opportunity. He discusses how to leverage property for income through rentals, flipping, and even more nuanced strategies like lease options.
Beyond real estate, Allen explores other avenues such as investments in stocks, bonds, and mutual funds, the potential of intellectual property, network marketing, and the burgeoning field of online businesses. Each chapter not only introduces these concepts but also provides a roadmap for implementation, making the book not just theoretical but highly practical.
The narrative style is engaging, with Allen's enthusiasm for wealth creation palpable throughout. He mixes motivational anecdotes with hard financial advice, which keeps the reader motivated. However, what sets this book apart is its holistic approach to wealth. Allen doesn't just talk about making money; he discusses the mindset required to achieve and maintain wealth. He emphasizes the importance of financial education, the mindset shift from employee to entrepreneur, and the psychological barriers one must overcome to truly embrace multiple income streams.
The book also addresses common fears and misconceptions about money and investing, providing reassurance and strategies to mitigate risks. Allen's approach is not about getting rich quick but about building sustainable wealth over time through diversified efforts.
In conclusion, "Multiple Streams of Income" is not just a financial guide; it's a life guide for anyone serious about achieving financial independence. It's well-suited for those who might feel stuck in the traditional 9-5 grind and are looking for ways to break free. The book encourages a proactive approach to wealth accumulation and provides the tools and knowledge necessary to start that journey. Whether you're a novice investor or someone looking to expand your financial portfolio, Allen's insights offer valuable guidance and inspiration.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 21, 2011As an economist, this book is definitely worth buying if you want some practical ideas of how to save for retirement and to view debt in a realistic way.
Too many people today seem to think that money will always be available to them, regardless of any practical understanding of it. This book, alone, gives a clear understanding of what money is and isn't. This book will give you a much larger understanding of why debt does not really help your buying power but instead creates risk on any long-term goals for your family, and many generations to come.
Applying this book to a frugal lifestyle can help anyone wanting to live debt free.
The only con side is that this assumes you have enough income to apply to these methodologies. Otherwise, if you know how to compensate these methods to fit your income it will be more useful for a larger group of readers.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2021This book changed my life. From having only one stream of income. Now I have many streams flowing into the bank.
In the beginning it may seem like nothing is happening, read the book a second time and a third time. And you will see that things are happening in The subconscious. Just like you plant a seed in the ground and you can not see the seed becoming into a 🌱 plant and then one day you see the plant coming out and if you take care of it. Then the plant becomes a tree and gives you fruit all your life.
Every dollar is a money tree. If you plant it correctly it will become a tree.

5.0 out of 5 stars

5.0 out of 5 stars An eye opener
A highly informative book with many real life examples.
Bob touches on just about every available stream of income out there, sighting specific examples and stories.
It gives you a good eye opener on what you'd like to add as your other sources of income.
Just like any mentor he gives you the tools you need to create your own success story, all you have to do is use them.
If nothing else, the book will at least motivate you to be the best 'you' that you can be.
